Is it that bad looking for buyers?
June 23rd, 2008 by Don EagleYou know, back in the day…like from 2003-2006….when everyone was scrambling during the boom I heard this complaint everywhere, ” I have buyers but no homes to sell!” REALTORS were complaining, doing all they could to dig up a listing, standing in lines to be the first to show a new property for sale and even some fighting and playing dirty tricks to keep their new found listing hidden from others.
How quickly we forget.
But today we sit at a place that has an abundance of homes for buyers to choose from. Mortgage rates are still great. In fact they will not be this low for much longer. And yet many are crying and moaning about how bad it is instead of doing what the successful REALTORS are doing. Looking for buyers. Advertising. Marketing. WORKING. (remember Maynard G. Krebbs?) In fact this was what the good REALTORS did every day prior to the artificial market of the last few years. They worked. They looked for buyers. They educated consumers in why and how they could buy a home today.
Ask yourself if you are working as hard to find buyers today as you did during the boom to find sellers. And if you answered yes, congratulations. You are one of the professionals that make our industry proud.
