Do REALTORS ever quit?
July 26th, 2008 by Don EagleReal Estate or being the Host of a Neighborhood? The answer to both is…of course. Although I understand the ones that quit real estate, and I wish more would, I always am puzzled when one quits with us. Like this week…..
We had one of our Neighborhood Hosts write us an email to tell us they would not be continuing after their year was over. They said they were not getting anything out of it. Nothing. No buyers, no sellers, nothing. I was crushed and started to sob in disappointment. Ok, not really because I knew what I would find when I visited their neighborhood. So I did.
When I got there and looked in their real estate section, the place that they would say to visitors…I am King of the Neighborhood…..I am THE Neighborhood REALTOR…..I am the ONE AND ONLY NEIGHBORHOOD EXPERT…..
I found no homes for sale.
I found no For Sale By Owners
I found nothing telling visitors why this REALTOR was the one they should choose from the competition.
I found no testimonials.
So the bottom line was, even if a million people visited, unless they just wanted some guy that had no business, no homes for sale, no past sales, but just had a real estate license like 4000 other REALTORS in the area, then why would they contact them and ask…Gee, will you be my trusted real estate Professional??
So yes we failed. I guess we could have added fake listings for him, made up testimonials, past sales and just did a bang up job faking it that this was the Best REALTOR in the neighborhood. But if we did that we would have to go on all the listing appointments and sales calls for him. And on the day of closings we could wire his commission straight to his bank.
I guess that could be our next level of service…
The:
You stay at home and watch TV while we pretend to be you and sell homes for you and then send you the cash plan.
Nah.
